Friend of Chief Justice shot
Friend of Chief Justice Ivor Archie, Dillian Johnson, was shot at his Gasparillo home on Sunday.
Johnson, who alleged that Archie was the victim of a 'witchhunt' in a statement issued last month, was hospitalised under police guard after the incident, which occurred around 10:30 pm on Sunday night.
According to reports, Johnson was in the porch of his Springvale, Gasparillo home around 10:30 when he saw an unknown man walking along the road.
Johnson, 36, watched as the man pulled out a gun and shot at him, then fled the scene.
Johnson was shot in his hand.
Johnson contacted the police and emergency health services and was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was treated.
More on this as it becomes available.
Johnson, who was convicted of fraud in 2008, said to media last month that he believes he was 'collateral damage' in an attempt to sully the reputation of the CJ to have him removed from office.
The statement came after media reports that Archie attempted to advise Supreme Court Judges to change their state-provided security in favour of a private security company where Johnson works.
The article further noted that Johnson has been on official trips abroad with the Chief Justice, 57.
In another article, Johnson was listed as one of 12 people who successfully obtained Housing Development Corporation (HDC) houses after Chief Justice Ivor Archie personally called senior HDC officials to fast-track the applications.
However, Johnson refuted the allegations, calling it "fabricated news".
