Funeral held for murdered family as investigations continue

Even as investigators continue to search for their killers, relatives paid their final respects on Friday at the funeral service of slain family, 52-year-old George Quintero, his wife Carmelita Garcia-Quintero and daughter Marisol, who were found dead in a vehicle in South Trinidad on April 29, 2019.

The funeral service of George Quintero, 52, his wife Carmelita Garcia-Quintero, 53, and daughter Marisol, 33, of Palmiste, San Fernando, took place on Friday at the St Benedict's RC Church in La Romaine.

Even while this went on, police continued their inquiries into the family’s killing.

The public has also been asked to intervene, and anyone with information on the incident is asked to come forward.

Persons can contact the police directly, or even give the information anonymously (through 555 or 800-TIPS).

On Monday morning the bodies of the three relatives were all found in dead in the family’s red Nissan Frontier van.

The vehicle was parked along the shoulder of the southbound lane of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway in the vicinity of the Golconda turnoff.

They had all been shot multiple times.

Police said the family was last seen alive on Sunday night, having gone to see a movie at the C3 Center in Corinth.

Investigations are being spearheaded by Snr Sup Zamsheed Mohammed and Sup Winchester of the Southern Division and the Homicide Bureau, respectively.
