Funeral home employee caught with gun near Mt Lambert bar
A 32-year-old man was due to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate on Tuesday on allegations of firearm and ammunition possession.
The suspect, said to be a senior official at a funeral home in Port of Spain, was arrested on Sunday morning by a team of officers from the Morvant Hot Spot Policing Unit.
According to police reports, officers received key information that a man had been seen with a firearm at Willow’s Bar along Mt Lambert Circular, Mt Lambert.
Officers made their way to the location at about 4:00 am on Sunday and confronted the man identified.
A search of his person and his vehicle was conducted, and officers allegedly found and seized loaded .38mm revolver.
The weapon was said to have been found under the driver seat of the vehicle.
As a result, the 32-year-old was arrested.
