Government announces all schools will be closed on Monday

All schools will be closed on Monday.

National Security Minister Stuart Young made the announcement on Sunday afternoon at a media conference called to update the public on the impact of Tropical Storm Karen.

"Based on consultation with the Met Service, we have taken a decision that schools will be closed tomorrow," Young revealed.

However, businesses and Government offices will remain open.

He said the decision was taken in light of the Riverine Flood Warning issued by the Met Office.

Original Story:

Education Minister Anthony Garcia is refuting an article claiming that all schools will be closed on Monday, due to an approaching Tropical Wave.

The 2017 article is being widely shared on social media.

However, the Minister said no such decision has been taken.

He said the public will be updated later today.
