Created : 17 April 2019
Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has launched an investigation into the conduct of police officers on duty at the Chaguanas Police Station last Saturday, following a report of robbery with violence and arson made by a family of four.
The investigation follows the submission of a report on Griffith's request which led to one officer being served with a notice for neglect of duty.
The Police Service has confirmed that the matter is currently being reviewed by the disciplinary officer and an investigation has been launched into the conduct of other police officers who were also on duty at the time of the incident.
Commissioner Griffith assured that every officer would be held accountable for their actions.
He reminded officers that they are expected to maintain high professional standards when performing their duties in service to the country.
