One man is warded at the Port of Spain General Hospital following a shooting incident in Barataria on Wednesday.
The victim is listed in a stable condition having suffered gunshot injuries to his shoulder and abdomen.
The incident reportedly took place around midday.
According to police reports, the victim, an attendant at a gas station along the Eastern Main Road, Barataria, was conducting his duties, when he was confronted by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
The men announced a holdup and began to rob the gas station.
The attendant attempted to resist, and was shot twice in the confrontation.
The assailants then fled the scene.
The police and emergency health services were notified and the wounded man was rushed for medical treatment.
His injuries were not said to be life-threatening.
