Get kids vaccinated against flu virus, Children's Authority advises

As a precautionary measure, parents and guardians should ensure that their children receive the flu vaccine.

The advice comes from the Children’s Authority which is appealing to parents and guardians to ensure their children’s safety from the influenza virus.

The Health Ministry in its latest influenza update noted that there have been 16 confirmed deaths from the flu virus.

Children under the age of five have been categorised by the Ministry as one of the groups vulnerable to the virus.  

In this regard, the Children’s Authority said all precaution should be taken to ensure their protection.

The flu vaccine is available at health centres across the country.
