Update: Missing girl, 16, found in forested area
Missing teen, Amilya Singh has been found.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) in a statement said, the teen was found in a forested area in the Buenos Ayres district around 4:45 p.m. on Thursday following an extensive joint search exercise.
The 16-year old student was reported missing from Cap de Ville Erin Rd Buenos Ayres, Erin since 2 a.m. on Christmas Day.
Operations were coordinated by DCP (Ag.) Operations Deodat Dulalchan and Snr Supt Basdeo.
The search party included officers of Erin Police Station, members of the South Western Division Task Force and aerial support was provided by Sgt. Rampallard (Pilot) and Cpl Forbes (Tactical Systems Operator) of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Air Support Unit.
Immediate family members, hunters, villagers and friends also assisted tremendously with the search and the Police Service is thanking them for their support.
The TTPS added Amilya was found in satisfactory health and was taken to seek medical attention.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is seeking the urgent assistance of the public in locating 16-year-old Amilya Singh.
Singh of Cap-de-Ville, Erin Road, Buenos Ayres, was last seen at her home around 2 am, on Christmas Day.
She was reported missing to the Erin Police Station around 6:15am, on that same date, by a male relative.
Amilya is of East Indian descent, 5 feet 2 inches tall and slim built.
She was last seen wearing a blue night gown.
