It is often said, no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
This saying holds true for Kiron Jadgeo, the Xtra Foods supermarket bag boy who paid the balance on a customer’s grocery bill on Thursday, as not only has the young man been rewarded by his employer’s but he has also been repaid by the woman he helped.
Jagdeo was hailed as a Good Samaritan on social media after he assisted the woman who didn’t have sufficient funds to pay her bill at Xtra Foods Supermarket in Grand Bazaar.
The woman took to Facebook on Thursday to share how thankful she was.
She explained that she crossed her budget and asked the cashier to take out something.
However, the young man who was bagging her groceries opted to pay the outstanding monies instead. The woman said this made her day and left her smiling from ear to ear.
On Friday, one day after he carried out the good deed, Jagdeo was not only rewarded by his employers but he was also repaid by the woman he helped.
In a Facebook post, Xtra Foods said Jadgeo was awarded for his selfless act of kindness with a certificate of recognition as well as a token of appreciation.
The supermarket said his action serves as inspiration for many.
“In recognition of his kind-hearted generosity to one of our customers yesterday at our Grand Bazaar branch, we have awarded Mr. Kiron Jagdeo with a certificate of recognition, and a token of our appreciation. Kiron's kind deed is an example of the level of caring we encourage at Xtra Foods. We hope that his actions continue to inspire us all.”
The woman, in a similar Facebook post, said she returned to the Xtra Foods supermarket at Grand Bazaar on Friday to repay Jadgeo, with extra.
“Yeah I GOT HIM BACK...repaid in full an extras...it ain half of what he's gonna be blessed with but I sure as hell felt good repaying him...Your journey has just begun continue making ladies smile YOU’RE THE TRUE DEFINITION OF A GENTLEMAN,” she said.
