Gov't closes Maracas, Las Cuevas, Manzanilla, Vessigny beaches

As Government works to implement measures to stem the spread of COVID-19, the Tourism Ministry has announced the temporary closure of the Maracas Beach Facility, Las Cuevas Beach Facility, Manzanilla Beach Facility and the Vessigny Beach Facility.

These beaches are under the Ministry’s purview.

The Ministry said the decision is in line with Government’s recommended guidelines and guidance arising out of the COVID-19 global pandemic.

The Ministry added that it is committed to ensuring the health, safety and well-being of all users of the Facilities at its tourism sites, adding that the protection of visitors to the beaches remains its “highest priority”.

Further, the Ministry reminded the public to practice the recommended personal protective measures against the transmission of COVID-19 as communicated by the Ministry of Health, including personal hygiene measures, as well as, practising social distancing.
