Gov't pledges to create opportunities for persons with disabilities

The Ministry of Social Development is seeking to reassure the Community of Persons with Disabilities that the Government remains committed to ending discrimination, creating opportunities and encouraging equal participation among the community. 

The comment came via release from the Ministry in commemorating the 12th annual observance of International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3. The observance seeks to promote awareness and understanding of disability issues.This year’s commemorative theme is “Transformation Towards a Sustainable and Resilient Society for all”. 

The Ministry said it holds steadfast to its hope of creating a more inclusive society.

"As a nation, we remain committed to the Developmental Strategies outlined in the Government’s Vision 2030, which pledges to “leave no one behind” and therefore, fully embrace and support this theme.
