The Government, the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs (AGLA) has expressed sadness over the passing of the late Chief Justice Satnarine Sharma.
In a statement, AGLA said Sharma led a distinguished life of service to the people of Trinidad and Tobago, in the multiple capacities of his existence whether at the Bar, at the Bench or as Chief Justice of Trinidad and Tobago.
AGLA said the former Chief Justice gave his all for the peace, order and good governance of our country.
"Trinidad and Tobago stands darker in the absence of his light. We extend deepest condolences to his family in this time of reflection and mourning and encourage them to celebrate the distinction of his example and contribution as a true son of the soil," the release ended.
