Grand theft auto ring broken as 3 held with stolen vehicles

Two vehicles which were reported stolen were recovered on Tuesday morning by officers of the stolen vehicles squad.

The vehicles, a BMW and a Kia Sportage, were recovered in the Central Division.

Three men, aged 32, 34, and 35, were arrested as a result and are expected to be questioned in relation to the vehicles which had been stolen from the Port of Spain and Sangre Grande districts, respectively.

According to police reports, on Tuesday morning, a team of officers led by Asp.Corbett-Villaruel with assistance from Insp. Mark Maharaj, Sgt. Dollaway, PC Forgenie and PC Armstrong, among several others received key information which led them to the address where the stolen vehicles were recovered. 

The suspects are being questioned, following which they could be charged and brought before the courts.

The same team of officers also reportedly recovered a welding plant on Friday, which had been reported stolen from FT Farfan recently.

One person was held in connection with this.
