'Green Days by the River' to premiere in London

Critically-acclaimed film 'Green Days by the River' is set to make its debut in London.

There will be a one-day screening at the Rio Cinema on Saturday, March 31, followed by a Q&A with director Michael Mooleedhar

The film has been making its mark internationally; just the week before, the film premiered at the Festival International de Films de Fribourg (FIFF) in Switzerland.

"Honestly, it is an amazing feeling to know the 'Green Days' team, producer, cinematographer, actors, crew and myself all worked so hard to make this film possible and to see the hard work being recognized and paying off is very exciting. We are glad to build a brand of Trinidad and Tobago/Caribbean film for the world to see. Visually, our landscape and stories are only just beginning to be seen on the big screen," Mooleedhar said.

He proudly added that the film was very well received in Switzerland.

"We were just in Fribourg International Film Festival in Switzerland and we were the first ever Trinidad and Tobago film to be a part of the festival. The audiences said they had never seen a movie like this before and were filled with questions about Trinidad and Tobago. In the height of winter, they all wished they could pay a visit to our hot climate and soak in some of the sunshine they experienced on the screen.

"We just hope that we can distribute the film to diaspora audiences around the world in Toronto and New York. The first of these stops is London."

'Green Days' is next scheduled to screen at the Washington, DC Film Festival and 44th Seattle International Film Festival which will run from May 17 - June 10.
