Police Commissioner Gary Griffith met with Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal, councillors of the Penal/Debe Regional Corporation and a cross-section of constituents at the MP’s office in Debe on Wednesday.

The meeting forms part of the ongoing transformational efforts by the Commissioner to strengthen stakeholder partnerships and community engagement with all Members of Parliament across all 41 constituencies within the nine policing divisions of the TTPS.

During the meeting, Griffith listened to security concerns expressed by constituents. He discussed numerous crime-fighting initiatives and strategies which the TTPS will undertake to better protect and serve the communities within the constituency.

Meanwhile, Dr Moonilal said he was grateful that the Commissioner held his first meeting in his constituency and said he looked forward to continuing to work with the TTPS to keep Oropouche East safe and secure.

Also in attendance at the meeting were the Chairman of the Penal/Debe Regional Corporation, Dr Allen Sammy, Snr Supt Zamsheed Mohammed of the Southern Division, members of the Oropouche East Constituency Executive, members of the business community and social activists.

Commissioner Griffith has given the assurance that he will continue to make himself available to these stakeholder meetings with other MPs and their constituents in the coming weeks.
