Police seize gun after woman's report of threat against her life

A woman who told police her life was in danger was able to help officers find and seize an illegal firearm and ammunition.

According to a statement issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), officers attached to the San Juan Police station were on mobile patrol around 11.30 am along First Street, San Juan, on September 19.

WPC Solomon and PC Elwin were stopped by a woman who said that her life was threatened.

The officers accompanied the woman to the home of the suspect who was not there at the time. 

The victim pointed to a stove in the kitchen where she believed the gun to be hidden.

The officers made checks and found a pistol with seven rounds of ammunition.

The suspect was later arrested.

Police of the San Juan Police Station are continuing investigations.
