Gun and ammunition charges for men in South

Two men were held in unrelated incidents in connection with firearm and ammunition possession in South Trinidad

In a police statement issued on Sunday, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service said one man was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition by officers of the Southern Division Task Force.
 
On September 7, officers acting on intelligence, proceeded to New Locations Bar located at Iere Village Princes Town, where they searched a 31-year-old man of the same area.
 
A black and chrome Smith and Wesson revolver and 1 rd .38 spl ammunition was found on him and seized.
 
Police said the man was arrested and taken to the Marabella Police Station where he was charged for the offence.
 
In an unrelated incident, another man was arrested in Moruga for possession of ammunition by officers of the Southern Division.
 
According to a police statement, at around 6.30 m on September 7 officers on mobile patrol were driving along the Penal Rock Road, Moruga area when they saw a man behaving suspiciously and had cause to stop and search him.
 
The 39-year-old man of the same area was found to have four rounds of 12-gauge cartridges in his front right pants pocket.
 
He was taken to the Moruga Police Station where he was charged for the offence.
