Gun goes missing from army barracks

A firearm which was last seen lodged in the armoury of the Camp Omega Barracks has been reported missing.

The weapon, a H&K 9mm pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, was reported missing on Monday morning by a warrant officer (Class II).

However, what was alarming to officers was that the missing weapon was last seen on May 30.

It was observed missing the following day, and despite searches throughout the Chaguaramas camp, it could not be found.

Yet a report was only made on June 17.

Sgt Maraj has been appointed to oversee inquiries.

More on this as it becomes available.
