Gunmen storm police officer's Freeport home

Central Division Police are investigating a home invasion in Freeport where four gunmen stormed a police officer’s home.

The officer, who is attached to the Central Division CID, was not at home at the time, however, two relatives, including a 56-year-old woman and her daughter, were at home.

However, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Police officers were told that around 10:00 am on Sunday, four men stormed the home and announced a hold-up.

Some of the men were armed with firearms.

The attackers stole a quantity of cash and jewellery from the home before escaping in a vehicle which was parked nearby.

Investigations are continuing; more on this as it becomes available.
