Gunmen storm Tableland home, make off with $345K in cash

Police are investigating a home invasion in Tableland where a family of five was robbed at gunpoint.

The incident took place around 8:45pm on Saturday.

According to police reports, the family was at their home when three men, who were masked and armed with firearms, stormed the premises.

The men ordered the family, including an 11-year-old girl, into the living room of the house and they were all tied up.

The bandits then searched the home and reportedly stole an estimated $345,000 in cash and a vehicle which belonged to the family.

After the thieves escaped, the victims untied themselves and contacted the police.

Officers attached to the Tableland Police Station responded and are continuing investigations.

The family told police that they are farmers and had secured the cash to make purchases this week.
