Guns, ammo, cash and drugs found hidden in police station ceiling
Firearms, ammunition, marijuana, cocaine, and a quantity of cash were all found hidden in the ceiling of a police station in the Central Division this weekend.
The items were found by officers of the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB), who were conducting inquiries into allegations of illegal activities being conducted by three of their officers.
During the course of that inquiry, the officers searched various units in the Central Division including the Robbery Squad, the Central Division Task Force, and the CID.
Hidden in the ceiling of this building, the PSB officers found and seized three firearms, one air pistol, 70 rounds of arrested ammunition, 28 packages containing a plant like substance resembling marijuana, a quantity of cocaine, and a quantity of cash.
The items have all been seized and are in the possession of officials from the PSB.
Several officers attached to these units are expected to be questioned this week.
The investigation was conducted under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Police Ag. Totaram Dookhie and included Snr. Supt. Ag. Vernon Roberts, WP Natalie Carthy, Cpl. Kelvin Marcano, Cpl. Paul Mohammed, Cpl. Terry Moore, Cpl. Ralph Rampersad, WP Ag. Sgt. Hunte and WP Cpl. Murray Marshal.
