Guns, ammo seized in Maraval; police certain of arrest

A shotgun, a pistol, and over 20 rounds of assorted ammunition was found and seized in Maraval.

The find was made by officers of the Multi-Operational Police Section, under the supervision of Supt Thomas.

Following a confrontation with police on Saturday morning, which resulted in the death of a man who allegedly opened fire on officers, police returned to Cameron Road, Maraval, later in the day where a search was conducted.

In a wooden structure, the officers found and seized one 12-Gauge shotgun, one Glock 19 pistol, nine rounds of 40 calibre ammunition, 10 rounds of 12-gauge ammunition, two ski-masks, 2.9 kilogrammes of marijuana, and several spent shells.

No one was arrested for these finds.

However, police have intelligence which they said would lead to arrests soon.
