A police exercise carried out by officers of the Northern Division Task Force on Monday led to the arrest of one man, and the seizure of a pistol and a quantity of ammunition.
Reports indicate that the officers conducted the exercise in the Area West of Northern Division, between 11am and 6pm on Monday, during which they arrested a 24-year-old man of Upper St. John Road, St. Augustine.
The 24-year-old was arrested after he was found with one Beretta pistol and a magazine, containing ten rounds of 9mm ammunition in his possession.
Officers also discovered one revolver with four rounds of .38mm ammunition in a bushy area at Knowles Street, Curepe.
No arrests were made in connection with the find.
