Guns, drugs found in Central

Police exercises in the Central Division on Thursday afternoon led to the seizure of two loaded firearms and a quantity of marijuana.

One weapon was found wrapped in a black plastic bag hidden in some bushes under a bridge along Onyx Drive, Carlsen Field.

The officers then made their way to Ninth Street Extension, Railway Road, Couva, where they had cause to search an abandoned wooden structure.

Hidden inside were a revolver and four rounds of ammunition. A quantity of marijuana was also found and seized.

No one was arrested in connection with either find.

The exercise was led by Snr Sup Seepersad, ASP Smith and Sgt Jordan.
