Handyman in court for sexual abuse, abduction of girl, 9
A Port of Spain man, charged with sexual touching, grooming and abducting a 9-year-old girl is due to reappear before the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday
Forty-two-year-old David Delves, a handyman, who is charged with one count of sexual touching, one count of sexual grooming and one count of abduction of a minor was granted $100,000 bail with Clerk of the Peace approval, when he appeared before Magistrate Adia Mohammed, in the Port of Spain 7th Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Bail was granted on the condition that the accused stays at least 500 feet away from and ceases all communication with the victim. The matter has been adjourned to Wednesday.
The offences against the minor are alleged to have occurred in the Port of Spain Division on November 28, 2016. Delves was arrested along Independence Square, Port of Spain, on Monday by officers of the Child Protection Unit, Port of Spain Division.
