The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has allocated a vehicle from its existing fleet, for use by its Recoveries Unit as it works toward improving its client service relationship and debt collection effort.

The “new” Debt Collection vehicle will allow Recoveries personnel to visit approximately 3000 customers in arrears, at their residence.

The approach is expected to reduce the number of customers who claim ignorance or non-receipt of official correspondence from the HDC.

The HDC says the branding and labelling on the vehicle will make it easily identifiable to HDC clients and encourage delinquent customers to clear their outstanding debt.

The Corporation is hopeful the public will also see its commitment to recover outstanding monies.

The introduction of the vehicle is a continuation of a wider Debt collection Strategy by the HDC which has been implemented over the past two years.

No cash transactions will be made on this vehicle.
