Health Ministry: 32 confirmed flu deaths

In their weekly flu update, the Ministry of Health has announced that 32 people have died as a result of the Influenza Virus.

The Ministry is urging those most as risk, including children, pregnant women, those with chronic medical and respiratory ailments and the elderly, to get the flu vaccine.

While 33,101 vaccines have been administered for the season so far, the Ministry suspects that close to 3232 cases were suspected.

Persons in the health care workforce and essential services are also encouraged to get the flu vaccine.

Members of the public are advised to contact their nearest health centre to confirm the dates and times that vaccines are distributed.
