Health Ministry: Cuban doctors to be deployed to health facilities
The Health Ministry has advised that paediatricians are among some of the medical personnel who will soon be deployed to health facilities in T&T to provide health services under the Technical Cooperation Agreement in Healthcare between this county and the Cuba.
In a statement on Monday, the Ministry said these medical practitioners will work in health facilities which are currently operational within the public health sector.
The Health Ministry also refuted newspaper reports that the paediatricians and paediatric cardiologists will work at the Couva Hospital.
“The Honourable Terrence Deyalsingh, Minister of Health, did not indicate that paediatricians and paediatric cardiologists will work at the Couva Hospital as was erroneously reported in the daily newspapers,” it said.
The Ministry added that this initiative is one element of its overall thrust to enhance the service delivery associated with Infant Health in T&T and to achieve national Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
