Health Ministry reduces COVID-19 updates to once daily with new format
Created : 7 October 2020
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Roshan Parasram said as of tomorrow, the Health Ministry will be reducing its COVID-19 updates to once daily, with a new and improved dashboard format.
Speaking at today's media briefing, Dr Parasram said the new look will be a simpler graphic.
"As of tomorrow we’ll be having one press release per day, issued at 4pm to the press. It’s a new look, it’s a dashboard for COVID-19 for Trinidad and Tobago," he said.
The dashboard will include the number of people tested and recovered patients which would be a cumulative total consisting of patients discharged plus the recovered community cases.
The update will include the total number of deaths to date and new positive cases reported within the last 24 hours, however, these will include an annotation that the reported cases refer to actions which occurred over the last 72 hours.
The dashboard will also include relevant information on patients in home isolation and those in step-down facilities.
"We think it’s a simple graphic to follow and from tomorrow going forward we’ll be sending this via press release," Dr Parasram added.
