Flooding reported in south Trinidad after thunderstorm, heavy showers

Heavy showers associated with a thunderstorm over south-western Trinidad are resulting in street flooding in a few areas.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) provided the update in a Facebook post on Thursday afternoon.

The Met Office said these heavy showers can drift northward into Central areas of Trinidad.

Flooding has been reported in San Fernando.

 

Weather update for the period this afternoon and tonight:

 

Trinidad and Tobago
Cloudy periods with showers, at times heavy, will occur in varying localities and thunderstorms in few areas. Night will be partly cloudy with few showery spells.

Street or flash flooding is likely in areas of heavy showers and/or thunderstorms.

 

Seas

Seas are moderate but rough in vicinity of Tropical Storm Kirk.
