Held hostage over drugs: Venezuelan teen rescued by police

Police have rescued a 17-year-old Venezuelan national from a house in St Ann’s.
The teenager was removed from a house along Symond Road, St Ann’s around 11:30 am on Sunday during an operation by officers of the Port of Spain CID and the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, led by Sgt Dolloway, Cpl Howard and Cpl Murlain.
Police were told that the victim was being held at the house in exchange for drugs.
She was brought to the house on Saturday.
Officers received intelligence that the teenager was being held in the house and as a result they went to the location where she was found in the presence of four people.
All four, including a woman, were held.
One the suspects lives in Las Cuevas.
They are all aiding police with their inquiries.
