House destroyed by fire in Rousillac

A house was destroyed by fire in Rousillac Village on Tuesday.

The fire occurred around 12:45 pm along Boodram Avenue, Rousillac.

LoopTT was told that a 21-year-old woman was in the back of her house doing chores when she observed smoke coming from her bedroom.

She raised an alarm and ran for safety.

However, within minutes the mostly wooden structure was engulfed by flames.

Fire officers from the Fyzabad station, led by FSO David responded and extinguished the flames.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is not yet known.

From initial estimate, over TT$110, 000 in damages were recorded.
