House destroyed in weekend blaze in Arouca

Fire officers are expected to return to the scene of a blaze in Arouca which has left three persons homeless.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported in the incident, even though the three occupants were at home at the time.

The fire was initially reported around 7 pm on Saturday, at a single story residence along Henry Street, Arouca.

That night, appliances from the Arouca Fire Station responded and were thankfully able to contain the fire to the compound. However, the damage was said to be “total” with initial estimates placing the value at $850,000.

Fire officers are expected to return to the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.
