Hypoglycemic event behind Marlene's hospitalisation
Marlene McDonald suffered from a hypoglycemic event which landed her in hospital on Thursday.
The Public Administration Minister, in a release, said doctors have informed that she experienced a hypoglycemic event which occurred because her blood sugar levels dropped very low having not eaten that morning.
"At this juncture, I wish to publicly thank the Prime Minister and my Cabinet colleagues for their care and assistance during the episode. Special mention must be made of Ministers Deyalsingh, Robinson-Regis, Crichlow-Cockburn, Cudjoe and Gadsby-Dolly who stayed with me even as I was being treated at the hospital," she said.
"I also wish to thank the medical and non-medical staff of the Mt Hope Hospital for the care and attention I received at the institution. It has renewed my confidence in the health care system, even as the country faces economic challenges. A heartfelt thanks is also being sent out to all those in my constituency of Port of Spain South and indeed across the nation who offered up prayers and well wishes via telephone calls, texts, online posts and otherwise. It is humbling and heart rendering."
Mcdonald was discharged on Friday.
