Officers of the Inter Agency Task Force and the Coast Guard seized a quantity of marijuana with an estimated street value of $489,000 from aboard a pirogue in the Gulf of Paria on Wednesday.
The seizure took place during an anti-crime exercise between 5:45pm and 7pm during which several buildings were searched in Sea Lots.
With the assistance of the Coast Guard, a pirogue in the Gulf of Paria was searched, resulting in the discovery of 45.9 kilogrammes of marijuana aboard the vessel.
Three men; a 30-year-old man and a 39-year-old, both of Production Drive, Sea Lots and a 25-year-old man of Pioneer Drive, Sea Lots, who were onboard the vessel were held and handed over to officers of the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit.
