Created : 8 December 2017
Over 150 police officers and soldiers swept down on the East Port of Spain communities where illegal tenants were again removed from Housing Development Corporation (HDC) apartments.
The exercise took place between 4:00 am and 10:00 am and was spearheaded by Snr Sup Radcliffe Boxill with assistance from Snr Sup Persad, ASP Rawle, and Sgt Williams, among several others.
During the exercise, the officers made their way to Clifton Hill, Laventille, where for the third time in as many weeks, they had cause to remove and arrest four persons who were found illegally occupying HDC apartments.
The officers also arrested 22 persons in connection with shootings, robberies and outstanding warrants.
The exercise was part of the Port of Spain Division’s commitment to reducing crime and maintaining law and order in its district and was one of several which are expected to take place this weekend.
