Indian classical singer Jameer Hosein has passed away at the age of 78.
According to report, Hosein collapsed at his Kelly Village home on Friday.
He was buried on Saturday according to Muslim rites.
Condolences have been pouring in on his passing.
The National Council of Indian Culture says he was a man of impeccable character.
“JAM as he was fondly called was a man of impeccable character and moral standings. He led the way while others follow. His singing career started at a very young age singing Islamic songs and mobbing to film songs,” it said.
It added that while he is no more, thanks to the local recording industry the future generation will be able to hear his silky soothing yet powerful voice.
