St Lucia police investigating triple homicide
St Lucia police continue to investigate the triple homicide that brought the island's toll for the year from 44 to 47.
Monday saw another fatal shooting where a shopkeeper gunned down a man in his shop in Ti Rocher, Micoud in the midst of an altercation.
The triple homicide struck Bruceville, Vieux Fort on Saturday, October 28.
According to Inspector Marcellinus Leonce, police received word of the shooting at about 1:00 am but had to return hours later at about 6:00 am because of the area’s lack of adequate lighting. Upon their return, three bodies were found inside a board house.
On Monday it was revealed that two of three victims had been identified: David Raymond, aka Pumpkin of Bruceville and Allan Norbert, aka Reese of Ti Rocher, Micoud.
Witnesses stated they heard multiple gunshots ring out into the night. A witness heard ‘police’ shouted before the shots were fired.
A female occupant of the house was unharmed.
Although a motive has not been confirmed, it is suspected that the killings are gang-related.
St Lucia authorities are continuing investigations.
