Investigations continue into death of Curepe woman

Police are trying to find a motive for the killing of 48-year-old Phoolandaye Singh.

Singh’s body was identified by relatives on Wednesday at the Forensic Science Center in Federation Park.

An autopsy confirmed that she died as a result of multiple chop wounds.

Police said Singh, AKA 'Sabita', lived at Stella Street, Curepe, and was last seen alive on Saturday morning.

By 1.00 pm that day, her body was found in an unoccupied land opposite the Housing Development Corporation's Peas Tree Development at Caura Royal Road, El Dorado.

The police were notified and a team of officers led by ASP Blackman and Inspector Birch visited the scene.

More on this as it becomes available.
