The Jean de La Valette docked at the Port of Port of Spain on Wednesday morning.

The National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO) said the vessel will undergo routine inspection and clearance by Customs and Excise.

It added that the process of acquiring relevant approvals and training of local staff as required for the vessel’s operation in the inter-island service between Trinidad and Tobago will subsequently commence.

In April, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley said it will cost Government around $35,500 euros (around $271,014 TT) per day to lease the Maltese ferry.
