Tracy David-Celestine’s victory as at the Tobago Council internal election is both beyond historic and a change in the dynamics of political leadership particularly as it relates to Tobago.
That’s the view of the International Women’s Resource Network (IWRN) which congratulated her on winning the election, following a run-off vote on Sunday.
The organisation said her stint as T&T’s Ambassador to Costa Rica would produce “phenomenal benefits” in Tobago’s current repositioning thrust to boost tourism.
Describing the newly elected head of the Tobago PNM as a servant leader, the IWRN said she is effectively poised to hold this new mantle, having served in the positions of Deputy Chief Secretary, Leader of Assembly’s Business and Secretary of Tourism and Transportation in the Tobago House of Assembly for some 12 years.
The organisation believes Davidson-Celestine is also in a position to set new benchmarks for Tobago, utilising its “untapped potential”.
The IWRN added that it believes the new Tobago PNM leader is capable of unfolding and transitioning into both tangible and intangible benefits for the entire country.
The organisation further urged Davidson-Celestine to become this country’s new mentor to support other young women aspiring to become their best in the political arena all with one collective vision of recreating a better Trinidad and Tobago.
