Jamaica confirms second case of COVID-19

A second imported case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Jamaica, health minister Dr Christopher Tufton has announced.

Tufton made the disclosure via social media on Wednesday.

 

He said the second confirmed case of the virus is a US Embassy employee who returned from the United Kingdom.

 

Jamaica's Office of the Prime Minister will offer more details of the case later at a press conference.

Jamaica confirmed its first case on Tuesday. The patient is a Jamaican-born woman who recently came to Jamaica from the United Kingdom.
