Jamaican national tied up, robbed by wig-wearing bandit in Arima
A Jamaican woman was among two women who were tied up and robbed at gunpoint in Arima by a man wearing a wig and a dress.
The victims are a 38-year-old woman from Jamaica who currently resides in Santa Rosa, as well as a 19-year-old from Bon Air, Arouca.
According to reports, around 5 am on Thursday, both victims, who are employees at the Double Palm Guest House went to a room to let the occupants know their time was up.
When the 38-year-old woman turned to walk away she heard the door opened and felt some grab her and place what felt like a firearm behind her neck.
A man announced a holdup and told her to scream.
She was then escorted to the office area.
One man, police were told, was dressed in female garb with a wig on.
The other suspect was dressed in a black hoodie and dark clothing.
They proceeded to rob the two women of their personal cash as well as $8350 in cash representing the overnight proceeds.
An Alcatel cell phone was also taken.
The two women were then tied up with sheets and the suspects made good their escape by running down the stairs and through the garage door.
The victims eventually managed to free themselves and raise an alarm.
The police were notified and investigations are ongoing.
