JMMB celebrates International Women's Day: Balance for Better
U.S. Congress Woman Nancy Pelosi wrote, “Women are leaders everywhere you look -- from the CEO who runs a Fortune 500 company to the housewife who raises her children and heads her household…” In commemoration of International Women's Day and Women's History Month the JMMB Group is celebrating the women of JMMB, and around the world, who balance both their careers and their entrepreneurial pursuits, and who lead both personally and professionally.
Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Client Experience for the JMMB Group, Lisa- Maria Alexander, is in high praise of these women who manage and balance these roles so successfully. “I think the idea of managing multiple parts and multiple roles in our lives is what makes women unique.
The JMMB Group was founded by a female entrepreneur who was dedicated to ensuring financial inclusion. We uphold the legacy of our founder, Joan Duncan, by providing support and empowerment to all of our JMMB entrepreneurs, as well as clients who also have that entrepreneurial spirit and vision.”
This year the Group chose to highlight 7 female JMMB entrepreneurs who strive for excellence both in the JMMB office and at their own businesses. These businesses include graphic design, event planning and management, cleaning services, clothing and accessories and photography services.
Stephanie Craig-Blackman, Marketing Assistant and co-owner of the event company the Golden Confetti Company, credits her success to having a great support system “I will admit that it is difficult but my family, especially my mother and my sister, have really helped me to move the business forward.”
Marissa Dan says passion is what motivated her to start her business and says it is, in part, what makes her photography business, Designers Original Productions, successful. “You have to love what you do and make it enjoyable and it will never seem like work.”
The JMMB Group hopes that featuring these successful women will inspire other upcoming female entrepreneurs to also pursue their dreams.
