There might be job cuts at the Chaguaramas Development Authority based on the information in a statement issued on Monday.
The release said the CDA is engaged in a staff rationalization exercise which it said became necessary in light of the inability to cover its operational expenditure.
"This exercise seeks to address staffing concerns as there are 200 employees employed at the CDA whereas the Estimate Expenditure for Statutory Bodies from the Ministry of Finance provides for a structure of 132 employees and Personnel Expenditure accounts for approximately 72% of Income Earned at the CDA," it said.
According to the release, management has commenced discussions with the respective unions on the staff regularisation exercise and the process is ongoing.
