La Brea quadruple murder suspect appears in court
The man accused of carrying out the brutal murders of four people in La Brea has appeared before a Point Fortin Magistrate.
Rodger Mattison, 39, of Salick Trace, Guapo, appeared before Senior Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan in the Point Fortin Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with the murders of Michael Scott, Abigail Jones, Olivia Trotman and Michaela Mason, which took place on March 13.
The matter was adjourned to April 23.
The three female victims were found with their throats slit in an apartment building at Kanhai Settlement, Sobo Village, La Brea, while Scott died from a blow to the head.
Mattison was charged by Sgt. Hemraj Sirju, of HBI Region 3 on Friday, following advice received from Deputy DPP Joan Honore-Paul, the same day.
