La Horquetta woman held with gun, drugs

Police arrested a 41-year-old La Horquetta woman after allegedly finding a gun, ammunition and a quantity of marijuana at her home.

According to a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), officers of the Northern Division carried out a search of her home during an anti-crime exercise which took place between 3:00-9:00 pm on Monday at Phase 7, La Horquetta. 

Police found a Kimber pistol, a magazine containing two rounds of .45mm ammunition and 50.2 grammes of marijuana. 

The officers then went to a bushy area at Mission Road, Five Rivers, Arouca, around 8:55 pm, where they discovered one shotgun, along with one 12 gauge cartridge.

However, no one was arrested in connection with the find.
