La Romaine siblings shot by same bullet during robbery attempt
A brother and sister have been left nursing gunshot injuries following a shooting at their La Romaine home on Monday.
The victims, 27-year-old Amiel Brooks and 28-year-old Anicia Brooks, thankfully, did not receive life threatening injuries.
They both received injuries to their shoulders and were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.
The incident took place around 3.30 am on Monday.
Police believe that the two were shot in a burglary gone wrong.
According to police reports, the armed assailant entered the home by breaking a dead bolt to one of the doors of the house. Relatives, on hearing the noise, went to investigate, however, they encountered the bandit.
The man fired one shot before fleeing the scene on foot.
Both siblings, police said, were injured by the same bullet.
Officers of the Southern Division responded to the report, and the two siblings were rushed for medical treatment.
Police are following leads on this incident with the aim of making an immediate arrest.
