La Romaine teen on $300K bail for Facebook robberies
A 19-year-old has been placed on $300,000 bail, after appearing before a San Fernando Magistrate on allegations that he robbed three people who responded to posts of sale on social media.
The accused, Kadeem Charles, from La Romaine, appeared before Senior Magistrate Cherril-Anne Antoine in the San Fernando Magistrate’s Court.
He was represented by defence attorney Frank Gittens.
Charles faced allegations of robbery with violence on two separate dates.
In one charge, it was alleged that Charles, along with another person, robbed a victim at Church Street, La Romaine, of TT$12,000 in cash as well as two cellular phones together valued at TT$3,700.
In the other charge, it was alleged that Charles, along with another person, robbed two people of their cash and valuables, including TT$1,000 in cash as well as over TT$1,300 in documents.
After further submissions to the court, bail was granted and the matter was adjourned to November 1.
