Update: The North Coast Road has been reopened to vehicular traffic after a landslip was cleared on Thursday morning.

The Works and Transport Ministry advised, however, that traffic disruptions can be expected on Friday between the hours of 9 am to 2 pm as work continues to remove additional trees.

Agriculture Minister Clarence Rambharat praised employees of the Horticulture Services Division and Forestry Division for responding and assisting the Works and Transport Ministry in clearing the road.

Crews have remained in the area to deal with other trees which may pose a danger in the future.

The Works and Transport Ministry has advised it has temporarily closed the North Coast Road to all citizens, including residents.

A technical team of Ministry officials is onsite and emergency crews are working to have one lane of traffic open to the public in an hour.
